It is of ill omen to count up the medals - there's such a supestition among athletes. Aleksandra Solovjova did it - she has more than 70 medals. Sasha gained the first victory at 4 years old, at that time going into professional sport was yet out of question.

A.S.: "In childhood I was small, plump - a white dandelion, in general".

Aleksandra's parents didn't even dream about bringing up a two-time European champion and one of the best athletes among the Russian national RG team.

A gold medal from the World Championship in Japan turned out to be the last one for Aleksandra Soloviova.

A.S.: "I think that for any athlete it's hard to give up their beloved work, which you do from the very childhood. Generally speaking, it was all my life.
It made my life and I didn't see anything at all apart from it".

Not an injury impeded progress of her career, as it usually happens, the growth of bones simply didn't bare the workload. Cartilages stopped developing. Nonetheless, in the national team Sasha was waited for and cherished for future victories. She's trained not at full capacity for a year and a half. Irina Viner didn't want to accept the loss of not only the most
promising, but, as it was said in the press, the most refined and beautiful athlete.

I.V: "When she appeared on the carpet there was fire. She used to perform the routine to the music of Dunaevsky "In Search of the Castaways" - it's an alarming and at the same time very strong piece of music. She did it very well, I don't use this music any more, because I don't want to, my heart aches when I remember her performing that routine so fine. This wound has not healed over yet".

For two years Sasha hasn't picked up neither a ribbon, nor a ball or clubs. These things are the most precious she has, of course, besides the medals. There are also photographs and memories though.

A.S.: "My favourite ball, which I used during the European championship, was probably stolen. Most likely, children have done it during the team practice session in Montenegro. They must have dropped in and taken it to play. But they didn't know it was my favourite apparatus, the most precious I had, in principle".

Aleksandra Solovjova's coach Irina Viner calls her a lady. Behind the restraint of the platinum blonde there's a powerful temperament and a strong
character - one can't take away something given by nature.

I.V.: "I haven't ever heard her laughing or speaking loudly. Not to mention resenting or talking back. One can think that she was brought up in some Eton, the best English school".

Such quilities don't accord to the image of a TV presenter, but it's the new dream of Aleksandra. She has already started fulfilling it.

A road to the small screen is not short, and taking up lessons at this school of acting technique is only the first step towards the settled goal. One shouldn't doubt she will achieve it.

Nowadays Sasha has new teachers of acting technique and stage speech, but their goals are the same as her coaches had - revealing the personality of Aleksandra Solovjova.

Teacher: "Our pedagogical credo consists of dragging the individualuty out of a person. We act according the character of the concrete person. That's why we work a lot on improvisation - both of speech and acting".

Sasha has idols among TV presenters - Ivan Urgant and Kseniya Sobchak. However, she didn't ever need role models.

A.S.: "In childhood I wanted to have my own personality in gymnastics".

Training sessions changed into sketches and speech excersises. She had to start from scratch, overcoming herself and fear of the audience.

T.: "Sasha has a character, enormous wish to learn, but I think that she lacks courage a little bit. She wants to do eveything perfectly, but in theatre one has to set them free, have fun".

Perharps Irina Viner would like to see her pupil being if not the Olympic champion, but a RG trainer. But she knows that Aleksanda Solovjova is not the person to be easily persuaded
